Whitby Abrasives stocks cut-off wheels for cutting steel and stainless steel, shipped from Whitby, Ontario.

Whitby Abrasives stocks cut-off wheels for cutting steel and stainless steel, shipped from Whitby, Ontario. Diameters run from 2" to 16", with 3/8", 5/8", 7/8", 1" and 20 mm arbors. The 4" to 7" wheels with a 5/8" or 7/8" arbor fit angle grinders, and the 9" wheels fit 9" angle grinders and chop saws. The 10" to 16" wheels are for chop saws and stationary cut-off machines. None of the wheels in this collection is for gas-powered cut-off saws.
Thin wheels (0.045" to 1/16") give a narrow, fast cut, and 1/8" wheels are stiffer for heavier sections. Type 42 wheels have a depressed centre. Never side-grind with a thin Type 41 cut-off wheel. Use a wheel marked for grinding instead. Before mounting any wheel, check that the tool's no-load speed does not exceed the maximum RPM marked on the wheel, and that the guard and flanges match the wheel.
Retail packs hold 5 to 50 wheels, for example 50 wheels of 4-1/2" × 0.045" × 7/8" for $39.99 CAD, and case quantities are listed on some sizes. The collection also includes a 4-1/2" diamond blade for tile, granite and marble.

How to choose a cut-off wheel
Match three things to your tool: the diameter, the arbor (centre hole) and the maximum speed marked on the wheel. Angle grinders take 4" to 7" wheels on a 5/8" or 7/8" arbor. The 9" wheels fit 9" angle grinders and chop saws, and the 10" to 16" wheels are for chop saws and stationary cut-off machines. None of these wheels is for gas-powered cut-off saws. Thin wheels (0.045" or 1/16") cut faster with less burr, and 1/8" wheels last longer on thick sections. A thin Type 41 cut-off wheel is for cutting only, so never use it for side grinding.
