Grain Tear-Out
Aggressive grit on soft or figured woods causes grain tear-out that shows through stain and finish. Using the correct grit sequence — starting no coarser than necessary and stepping up progressively — eliminates tear-out without extending sanding time.
Disc Loading & Glazing
Resin and wood pitch load abrasives quickly, glazing the surface and causing heat that raises grain. Stearate-coated aluminium oxide and open-coat silicon carbide sheets resist loading and stay sharp through the full disc or sheet life.
